In the Opening Session, Ministerial-level participants
from the invited countries will introduce themselves
and share their country’s perspective on innovation.
If there are any programmes/ initiatives focused on
promoting an inclusive model of innovation in the
respective countries, these could be highlighted.
The session will also include presentations by
representatives of the UN, World Bank and OECD.
The participants will be requested to keep their
presentations/ talk between 8-10 minutes.

This session will focus on discussing the institutional
and policy frameworks that can foster innovation,
especially inclusive innovation. Globally, there are
various examples of the institutional structures created
by Governments to provide a systematic policy
perspective for strengthening innovation as well as for
embedding it within Government systems to impact governance.

In this session the focus would be on capturing and
demonstrating the impact of local strategies and
cluster-based models of collaboration for fostering
innovation and stimulating entrepreneurship and
livelihood generation. These could be the collaboration
dynamics in regional industry clusters, university
clusters or even virtual clusters that have an impact on
strengthening innovation in the local ecosystem.
