Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Government of Ireland

Richard Bruton TD was appointed Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation in March 2011. Minister Bruton is a Research Economist by profession. He is an experienced Deputy representing Dublin North Central and was first elected to the Dáil in 1982. He was Minister for Enterprise and Employment, 1994-97. The Minister’s current portfolio encompasses enterprise and industrial development, trade, innovation, labour affairs and consumer and competition policy. The Minister was chair of the Competitiveness, Employment and Trade Councils during Ireland’s Presidency of the EU in 2013.
